We were born to breathe. We can´t live without breathing. Yet I am amazed how often we forget to breathe probably. When was the last time you took a deep mindful breath? Think about it. Feeling the air filling your longs, your abdomen, lower back… your whole body. Probably not very often. Our lives today are getting more and more demanding and taking a moment to one self can almost bring on the guilt. So silly!
I always tell my friends to breathe when they are going through stuff. Now they send me picture of places they see it written which is kind of funny.
One of my hobbies is that I teach Barre Method, which is a fantastic workout not only for toning but also for centering your self. I am a broken record through out class telling my student to breathe. I can almost feel the room holding its breath. When breathing, not only are you feeding your body, energizing it so you are able to go deeper into your workout you are also touching base with your self and centering your self.
Maybe just sit down, close your eyes and breathe. Get familiar with that sensation of being fully in your body and you might be surprised how some of your daily stresses and anxiety will become less and less. Or maybe you just need it before a big meeting, interview etc.
So in doubt…….. BREATHE
